Lotus mahal in zenana enclosure in – hampi

Zenana Enclosure in Hampi is an exclusive area reserved for royal women in olden days. As we entered, we spotted a pastel-colored Lotus Mahal.
The Lotus Mahal is the beautiful remains of yesteryear’s architecture, and stands out amidst the ruins of Hampi.

What else you can find in Zenana Enclosure in Hampi?
Basement of Queen’s Palace, Watch Towers, Treasury Building, Water Pavilion, Guards’ Quarter, Elephant’s Stable, Hazararama Temple, Mahanavami Dibba, Underground Chamber, Stepped Tank, Queen’s Bath.

Hazararama Temple in Hampi
We spent almost an hour and a half in Zenana Enclosure as most of the places are closely knit within the enclosure.

While the elephant stable amuses with its large edifice, Hazararama Temple in Hampi depicts the story of Ramayana.
It’s dedicated to Lord Rama and sculpted elegantly narrating Ramayana. Undoubtedly, it was one of the temples of Royal Patronage.
Stepped Water Tank in Hampi:
Behold the beauty of the stepped water tank in Hampi. Perhaps it resembles the most striking stepwells, Chand Baori in Rajasthan. The pyramid-shaped stairways are so captivating.

It is one of the most beautiful ruins in Hampi. Incredibly, this is my favorite among the ruins of Hampi.

Queen’s Bath in Hampi:
Mahanavami Dibba is a three-tiered stone platform at a height of 8 metres and the lifeless Queen’s Bath is yet another masterpiece of architecture. The Bay window overlooking the pool in Queen’s Bath is quite good, giving it a royal touch.

If you could feel how lively this place could be, with a turquoise-water pool, filled with petals of red roses spread randomly and lights in the corners of the veranda, fresco-painted domes, colorfully decorated in blue tones… Wow!! It’s so breezy….
Pin for later!

With luv,
