Almost after 69 years of Independence, a massive revolutionary movement out-broke in Tamil Nadu to revoke the ban on Jallikattu.
Jallikattu-Revolution of 2017 would be etched in the Indian History. Marina – The second longest beach in the world witnessed people of all ages joining the protest.
As the words of Abdul Kalam, “Look at the sky; we’re not alone; the whole universe is friendly to us and conspires only to give the best to those who dream and work”.
When the Jallikattu protest broke out in Allanganallur, massive support received through social media across Tamil Nadu. Marina beach in Chennai, Tamukkam grounds in Madurai, VOC grounds in Coimbatore saw significant rise of people.
And the peaceful protest showed us,
- There’s a unity in diversity among people.
- Women can feel safe even at late night.
- People will inspire you with their hospitality.
With the 8 day of protests in Chennai, Tamil Nadu state legislation passed the law on 23rd Jan 2017 revoking the ban on Jallikattu.

That was a real victory for the youngsters who made it. When i see this much ppl in marina protest…i remembered our favourite president “Abdul kalam” words. Hope he is seeing this from heaven.
